My name is Pamela Cook, and I am married to my best friend, Hunter. We have five children, Justin (13), Darren (11), Garrett (9), Taylor, our only girl (7), and Ryan (6). We live in Cato, a small town in central New York.
I am the oldest of my four siblings. I have two brothers and two sisters. I was raised in a Christian home with two Godly parents. I am so grateful God put them in my life.
I am blessed to be a stay-at-home mom, it’s not always easy, but it is very rewarding. I enjoy working in the kitchen and I have a strong love for music.I also enjoy finding ways to save on our expenses , and I am excited to get tips and advice on homemaking from other wives and mothers.
What works for them may not work for me, and what works for me may not work for you, but we can learn from each other.
Hunter works full-time as the Assistant Manager at a local onion farm. I am so proud of him for his hard work and persistence this past year! I am blessed by his unconditional love.
I have a heart for people, especially children. I pray that God gives me grace to show His love to those around me, on a daily basis, that they might see a glimpse of Him through my life. Only by His grace can I do this. His grace is sufficient for me.
I have been waiting for God to reveal his plan for my life, where He wants me to go, what He wants me to do, who He wants me to reach for Him.
It has to be more than dishes and laundry, sleepovers and baseball games, breaking up fights and running errands!
In my quiet time recently, I heard something that I hadn’t heard before, or maybe I just wasn’t listening until then. Some women are called to go to the mission field, to start ministries for children in need, to counsel broken families. Some women are called to be famous writers, musicians and speakers.
My heart’s cry is to show God’s love to those around me. To be a light in this ever darkening world. My heart breaks for those whose families are not as fortunate as mine and are hurting or struggling. Others are called to be wives and mothers.
I have come to the realization that I may not reach tens or hundreds of woman, and that’s okay. But, God has entrusted me with five children whom I can reach. I impact there lives on a daily basis. What greater calling is there than to touch the lives of children! Is there any greater calling?
I do not believe that this is my only calling, but I do believe that this is the most important one at this time in my life. Maybe I will reach others through the lives of my children. I can already see this happening in small areas of their lives.
Let’s join together to strengthen our families. We have an enemy fighting against us to conquer and divide. Let’s share our strengths and our weaknesses, our joys and our sorrows, our triumphs and our trials.
My calling as a wife and mother is a high and noble calling. I choose to be the best that I can be for God, my husband, and my children. The rest will come.
Let us seek to find all God has in store for us as wives and mothers. Let us learn to be homemakers that express the love of God everywhere we go, but forth most, in our homes, to our husbands and children. Let us not be shaken by the ways of the world, but stand firm on the solid rock, Jesus Christ. He is the one true giver of hope and peace everlasting. everlasting.
Join me in the journey to make my home a house full of love, full and overflowing into the world.
